Workshops and Co-located EventsICFP/SPLASH 2025

The joint ICFP/SPLASH 2025 conference will host a variety of workshops and co-located conferences, allowing their participants to meet and discuss research questions with peers, to mature new and exciting ideas, and to build up communities and start new collaborations. ICFP/SPLASH workshops and co-located conferences complement the main tracks of the conference and provide meetings in a smaller and more specialized setting.

Call for Workshops

ACM SIGPLAN ICFP 2025 and SPLASH 2025 invite proposals for workshops and co-located events to be held in Singapore from Sunday, October 12 to Saturday, October 18, 2025.

This joint event will create a forum for researchers, developers, and practitioners to present the latest work in software development, programming languages, functional programming, and emerging new ideas in computing.

All co-located events must submit a proposal — workshops, tutorials, symposiums, or side meetings:

About ICFP/SPLASH Workshops

ICFP and SPLASH provide complementary yet distinct tracks, bringing together researchers from different aspects of programming language and software engineering research. Workshops and symposia will occur throughout the conferences, with opportunities for interdisciplinary collaboration. We welcome proposals for events that facilitate discussions, presentations, hands-on activities, and other engaging formats to foster the exchange of new ideas and community building.

These events will be less formal and more interactive than the main conference sessions, providing an ideal venue for emerging ideas, early research presentations, and collaborative exploration.

Important Deadlines

• Deadline for Proposal Submission for Workshops: January 16, 2025
• Notification of Acceptance: January 31, 2025
• Deadline for Proposal Submission for Tutorials: May 8, 2025

Main Track Dates

• ICFP main track will be Monday (Oct 13, 2025) - Wednesday (Oct 15, 2025)
• OOPSLA main track will be Thursday (Oct 16, 2025) - Saturday (Oct 18, 2025)

Submission Details

Prospective workshop organizers should submit proposals by January 16, 2025. Proposals should outline the objectives, intended audience, and planned activities. Workshops that plan to have proceedings in the ACM DL must obtain SIGPLAN approval. Workshops without proceedings still need conference approval of their prospective PC choices. The selection committee will review proposals by January 31, 2025. Upon acceptance, successful workshops will be asked to prepare a summary report suitable for publication in SIGPLAN Notices.

Organizers of other events, such as tutorials, hands-on sessions, and retreats, should submit by May 8, 2025. More information is available at the Submission Portal.

Selection Committee

Event proposals will be evaluated by a joint committee comprising members from both ICFP and SPLASH organizing teams, in collaboration with the SIGPLAN executive committee.

Sponsorship and Reimbursement

ACM-sponsored workshops are permitted to have additional sponsors (i.e., getting donations specifically for the workshop, not for the main conference).
